Shakespear

I was watching "Star Trek: The Next Generation" this morning and it was a very thought provoking episode in which a brilliant Cybernetics Scientist is dying, and he "uploads" his consciousness into Commander Data (the android). I do wonder if this will be possible some day! Could it be possible for "eternal life" in the future?!

After Captain Picard realizes what has happened, he quotes Shakespear:

"So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee."

My first Easter with Grandma

I had a very interesting Easter Sunday this year! My mother had requested (via text msg since her computer is broken now) that I call my grandmother for easter, and then my aunt called and said she was coming up from West Virginia to visit as well.... So of course.. I just had to go there, and see Grandma and visit my newly found family again! What great people they all are! Honestly, I am still trying to get used to this... I had a blast with my new family!

I have a tendency to climb into a shell... behind a wall....or like superman calls it... a "Fortress of solitude".. and I'm kind of used to being alone now. I've been getting into the habit of being anti-social again...(It is an old habit)...winter blahs....etc.

Ok, winter is over..

Bring on the sun!

Here is to the whole life-cycle...some things fade away and new things are born!

I hope everyone had a great Easter!

changes in my life...

Since my last post I have gone through a few changes.

1) I have quit smoking cigarettes as of 12/31/2009! My QuitMeter (If I can do it, anyone can!)

2) I have started taking medication for stress and anxiety, and that made me kind of a zombie for the last couple months until I got used to it...that's why I have not posted for a while... :-\

3) I have moved out of the place I was staying, and moved back into my (adopted) sister's house. She has moved to Florida, and is going through some changes of her own as well...I wish her bon voyage, and god-speed!

I am feeling much better now, and hopefully I can get back to work on living daily life now. Sorry I was spaced out there for a while folks...

T-Day and X-Mas party!

First of all, I haven't posted for a while because I was sick and then busy trying to catch up with everything....(life).

Anyways...I had a great Thanksgiving at Aunt Connie and Uncle KC's house, and I met a few more of the family members there....it was a very, very nice Thanksgiving! Aunt Connie is a great cook! Yummy...I ate too much!

Now I am looking forward to: (quote Aunt from Jeannnee)
"It is official, the Blasdel Family Christmas Gala will be held Sunday, December 27th, at the Civitan Hall on 10th Street in Barberton."

I CAN'T WAIT!!! This is gonna be the best Christmas party ever!

I'm looking forward to meeting more of the family!

Best Birthday Ever!

I just had the most wonderful weekend of my life! My Uncle KC took me down to Tennessee to meet my Mother, my step-dad, and my two brothers for the first time. It is difficult to put into words how special this trip was to me. There is so much love in my newly found family, that I am just totally in awe! I am still in a daze at how good it felt to put my arms around my Mother for the first time, and have a group hug with my Mother and two brothers! I have not been taking care of my diabetes very well for quite a while, and I now am motivated to stick around on this planet! I have 47 years of lost time to make up for...and want to live to be at least 100 now so I can spend what time I have left getting to know my family, and be part of their lives!

Uncle KC, I cannot thank you enough for taking me to meet Mother, brothers, and step-dad! This was the most wonderful birthday I have had in 47 years!
I can see why the family calls you the hero...you truly are my hero!
That was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me in my whole life!

I love you all so much that there are tears in my eyes as I write this.
I was starting to think that no-one on earth cared about anyone but themselves. This has given me a new faith in people, and I am thinking there just just may be a God, because he surely smiled down on me this past weekend!

It is going to be difficult to go to work today, because my head is certainly in the clouds right now!

Road Trip of a Lifetime!

As my 47th birthday approaches, I have an Uncle who I haven't met in person yet giving me a ride down to TN to meet my Mother! This is the most awesome birthday present anyone has ever given me in my life! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Uncle KC!

Now I have to get packed, and start the journey I have been waiting 47 years to make.

"Mamma, I'm Comin' Home!"

Life is GOOD!!!
